As a result of sealed bids opened August 23, 2016, a contract has been awarded to National Water Main Cleaning Co., 25 Marshall Street, Canton, MA 02021 for the 2016 Sewer System Rehabilitation Project. The contractor will be performing these improvements under the supervision of the Town’s Engineering Division. Minor excavations will occur ONLY on High Street, Wenham Street, and Locust Street. The major components of the work will consist of, but are not limited to:
- cured in place pipe lining (CIPP) of existing sewer mains & laterals
- lining of existing sewer manholes
- minor excavations to repair existing sewers (High Street, Wenham Street & Locust Street)
- spot replacement of existing sewer manhole covers
National Water Main has begun to perform preliminary work by measuring and video recording the current condition of the existing sewers that are scheduled to be rehabilitated. In the upcoming weeks, National Water Main’s subcontractor, Insituform Technologies, Inc., is scheduled to mobilize on site to perform the cured in place pipe lining. Separate notices shall be delivered prior to the commencement of this work.
The contractor will work closely with the Engineering Division to complete this project in a timely manner. Due to the nature of this type of work, you may experience some temporary inconveniences such as a temporary inability to utilize water, traffic delays, noise, and possible detours while the contractor completes this project. The construction working times will be Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
